About
A little bit about me, and about this website.
That’s me in the photo, enjoying some vacation time on Lake Powell.
My husband and I live in northern Arizona, which gives us easy access to some of the most beautiful and most diverse outdoor recreation in America. We love it here.
I am a wildlife biologist by training, and love to play outside.
I created this site because I believe that the issues and ideas surrounding real food are hugely important.
We have a lot that needs fixing — our health as a nation, our health care system, our food supply system, our dependency on fossil fuels, our planet’s climate and environmental issues…
Real food touches on all of those in one way or another.
And even though the concept of real food is becoming more and more mainstream…we aren’t quite there yet.
You know how I can tell?
Sometimes…when I go to the grocery store…I look in other people’s carts. That’s how I can tell.
More people need to hear this message…and need help putting it into practice.
So — even though there are already some great sites out there (and I will point you to them), I made another one.
Probably more productive than sneaking things out of other people’s shopping carts…maybe?
Wishing you health and happiness –
Kara
